I am so nervous.
But then I remember the great surgeons taking care of me and I get a sense of relief…
But then I think about the surgery and I get nervous again.
It’s a never.ending.story.
Tomorrow is my surgery and I can’t believe it’s finally here! Two years in the making. I spent my day at more doctors appointments,found out I’m all set to go for surgery apart from the presence of kidney stones but….I’ve had 8 in the past year and a half so I’m used to them. As long as they don’t start to travel down I’ll be okay.

Walking around the downtown mall, my eye caught on to a poster for a chocolate store that I just had to visit. I spent the next 15 minutes searching for this place and finally found it. I picked flavors ranging from chocolate salt all the way to lavender chocolate…simply delicious. Before that I had gone to Ihop and ordered myself a monstrosity piled with whipped cream, blueberries, and hash browns.
For dinner…oh dinner. My last meal for 4 months, I decided to go with Italian. The best part was the wonderful company we were with. At my first appointment with Dr Gunson I met another patient having his surgery a day after mine! We swapped numbers, our mothers swapped number and we met up for dinner. It was the perfect way to relax and eat a delicious meal at a great place called Bucatini’s.

I am praying my surgery goes well tomorrow. I’m very nervous, don’t know if I will sleep, and I’m irked at the idea of having to wait until noon to go the hospital.
Did I mention I’m nervous? 🙂
I keep reminded myself that this is the last big thing and then, recovery will lead me to a path of perfection!

Hi! The surgery went beautifully! I’ve been really good about drinking enough and that has had a hue effect on my healing. I lost alot of blood during surgery so they’re going to keep me another night.
The surgeons are amazing. No one can believe how well Im doing and I really think its thanks to Dr. Gunson. The nurses here at cottage hospital are also incredible, making sure your happy and comfortable.
I apoligize if this doesnt make that much sense, Im on pain killers and they’re making it a struggle for me to find the right words to use 🙂

You are too sweet for getting back to me in your condition ! Wow mama Im glad to hear that your recovering well and its all coming together! I highly recommend going to the ‘we had jaw surgery’ group on facebook, super supportive group of people going through and been through jaw surgery… What exactly did you have done and what were your main problems?
I hope your getting plenty of rest, drinking fluids and well on your way to a beautiful smile!
Dont worry you make perfect sense, and more sense than people not on painkillers and sedatives of sorts 😉

I will look into that group right away. My main reasons for having this surgery were bite and airway. My air path was so small it would have most likely caused sleep apnea. This is adding on to the clicking, limited opening, and severe migraines.
They described what they weredoing to me in a vey sophisticated manner, basically they moved both the lower and upper jaw forward 🙂
I cannot wait until Im back to functioning “normally.”
